Renovated Shanghai Market Street to Reopen in Late December

The characteristic commercial street of Shanghai Market in Jiaxian District is currently undergoing accelerated renovation, integrating Soviet Union-Style red brick walls, industrial relics and modern architectural styles. It is expected that the commercial pedestrian street along Zhoushan Avenue will be opened to the public in batches by the end of December this year.

This district is upgrading with a focus on “youthfulness and scenification”, and is prioritizing the introduction of diverse business forms such as cultural performances, live music, extreme sports, e-sports, night economy, characteristic dining, escape room and brand retail. The project pays special attention to the introduction of first stores, with over 60% of the brands expected to be making their debut in the Luoyang market. In the future, it will also regularly host events such as anime exhibitions and music festivals. Currently, the district has connected with over 1,000 brands and signed 42 cooperation intentions.

The renovation of the block pays equal attention to the integration with the building economy. In November this year, the Regus shared office project was introduced, providing flexible office spaces for start-ups and forming a virtuous ecological circle of “streets supporting buildings and buildings promoting streets”.

In the future, the neighborhood will continue to optimize its business mix and environment, further stimulate consumption potential, and create a vibrant urban space integrating culture, commerce and social interaction.
