the 11th Lu Hun Winter Fishing Season Opening Ceremony launched

On January 29th, the 11th Lu Hun Winter Fishing Season Opening Ceremony is officially launched at Lu Hun Lake in Song County, Luoyang. The first catch of the day exceeded 20,000 jin, with the first fish weighing 46 jin. The scene of the abundant harvest is very lively.

Lu Hun Lake is known as the “Erhai Lake of Central Plains”. The “Three Treasures of Lu Hun” – silver carp, bighead carp and Yihe wuchang fish – are well-known far and wide. In recent years, Song County has adhered to the development concept of giving priority to ecology, promoted pollution control around the lake, and built nearly 12,000 mu of ecological parks. The ecological environment of the lake area has been significantly improved. The number of observed bird species has increased from 178 to 273, including 8 national first-class and 47 national second-class protected animals.

The local area annually releases 350 tons of silver carp and bighead carp and breeds 2 million selected fish of the Yihé bream. The annual fishery output remains stable at 1,300 tons, achieving a “triple harvest” of economic, social and ecological benefits. On the day of the event, the regional public brand of large water surface ecological fishery in Henan Province was officially launched, marking that the fishery in Henan has entered a new stage of standardized and brand-oriented development.

At present, Song County is relying on Lu Hun Lake to promote the construction of “Central Plains Green Valley”, laying out high-end homestays, health and wellness and other business forms, and driving the city’s transformation from a “mountain city” to a “lake city”. Local practitioners are also full of confidence in the future development. (Reporters Guo Xuefeng, Zhang Yixi, Communicators Wang Bo, Zhao Mingchen)
