Recently, the special exhibition “Two Capitals’ Colored Glaze Reflects the Splendor – The Grand Ode of the Tang Dynasty in Tang Tri-color Glazed Ceramics” opened at the Qiong Kiln Site Museum in Qionglai City, Sichuan Province. Over 70 pieces (sets) of exquisite Tang Dynasty artifacts from Luoyang are on display.
This exhibition is hosted by the QuanLai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism. It brings together 181 precious collections from multiple cultural and museum institutions in Henan, Shaanxi and other places. Through three sections, “Colorful Ribbons in the Sky”, “Splendor of the Two Capitals” and “Flowing Glaze Colors”, it systematically presents the diverse features of Tang Tri-color art and the prosperous atmosphere of the Tang Dynasty society.
The Luoyang Archaeological Research Institute, Luoyang Museum, Luoyang Ancient Tombs Museum, Xin’an Museum, Yanshi Museum and other cultural and museum institutions jointly participated in the exhibition, providing representative cultural relics including Tang tri-color glazed camel, civil official figurines, Heavenly King figurines, male Hu figurines leading horses, and earthenware ox carts, jointly showcasing the peak of craftsmanship and the era’s features of Luoyang, the Eastern Capital of the Tang Dynasty.

In recent years, cultural and museum institutions in Luoyang have continuously strengthened the integration and exchange of their collections, and actively promoted the revitalization and utilization of cultural relics and cultural dialogue in the region. This exhibition juxtaposes the robustness of Northern Tang Sancai with the agility of Southern Qiong Sancai, not only presenting a feast of colored pottery art that connects the north and the south to the audience, but also further promoting cultural and museum cooperation and cultural mutual learning between Luoyang and Qionglai.
It is reported that the exhibition will last until April 5th. (Reporter Liu Jiayi, Communicator Huang Chao, Duan Yuehui)
