The 2026 Luoyang Spring Festival Lantern Fair has entered the crucial stage of lantern-making. Currently, Wangcheng Park and Sui-Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden are stepping up the production of colorful lanterns.
The lantern festival deeply integrates local elements such as peony culture and River-Lo culture, and creates distinctive lantern groups through intangible cultural heritage techniques. The two parks continue the “differentiation” exhibition concept: Wangcheng Park takes “Thousand Chariots Welcoming Spring, Celebrating the New Year” as its theme, creating landscapes such as “Mountain River Spirit” and “Horse Leaping the Universe”; the Sui-Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden, centered on the theme of “Prospersity Soaring · Most Luoyang”, combines cultural temple fairs and presents a Spring Festival carnival with “innovative lantern art + technological light and shadow + immersive interaction”.

At present, the production progress of the lantern groups in Wangcheng Park has exceeded half, while the lanterns in Sui and Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden are larger in scale, with a completion rate of about 30%.(Reporter Xie Nanana, Photos Xu Qiaoge)
