Recently, the “Empress Wu Zetian Exhibition” recently was held at the Dutch Princess Garden Ceramics Museum in Netherlands. A total of 77 precious cultural relics from Luoyang City have participated in the exhibition.
The relevant officials from the Cultural Relics Bureau of Luoyang City introduced that in order to help local audiences better understand the “world” of Empress Wu Zetian, this exhibition adopts the first-person perspective and is narrated by Empress Wu herself, recounting her legendary life. The exhibits sent by our city cover a variety of categories, including gold and silver wares, Tang Sancai wares, painted pottery figurines, and stone sculptures, all of which have extremely high historical and artistic value and are also a true reflection of the era of Empress Wu.
In recent years, Luoyang City has taken its advantage in museum collections to adhere to the principle of cultural relic exchange “going out and bringing in,” cooperating with museums in Chengdu, Datong, Dunhuang, Yangzhou and other places to hold more than 120 cultural relic exhibitions. It has also held several cultural relic exhibitions overseas, such as “Luoyang TangSancai Art Exhibition” in Poland and “Dreaming of Bukhara: Special Exhibition of Cultural Relics Unearthed from the Tomb of An Pu, a Defending General of the Tang Dynasty,” in Uzbekistan, to promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture and facilitate civilization exchanges between different nations. Nowadays, cultural relics are becoming an important bridge for Luoyang to reach the world and tell its stories.
