Recently, a delegation of mainstream media from the Maldives visited Luoyang to gain an in-depth understanding of Luoyang’s historical and cultural heritage and new achievements in cultural tourism development, which has enhanced friendly relations between the two sides.
The delegation first went to the Ying Tian Men scenic spot in the National Heritage Park of Luoyang City in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Led by a commentator, they felt the grandeur of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, watched the site protection and display project of “one gate and three roads”, and climbed up to Ziwei Tower to photograph modern Luoyang City. In Luoyang Old Town, tourists in Hanfu took pictures and checked in among pavilions and towers. Members of the delegation interacted with tourists and used their cameras to freeze the charm of the ancient town with changing scenes. The delegation also went into Longmen Grottoes to appreciate the pinnacle of Chinese stone carving art and the splendid civilization thousands of years ago. They also walked into the Peony Porcelain Culture Museum and became apprentices to explore the mystery of turning soil into “peonies”.
Mohamed Ari, a journalist from Maldivian online media Deen, took pictures all the way. He believes that Luoyang has many good practices in cultural relic protection and cultural inheritance that are worth learning from. Ibrahim Ameed Ubaid, an editor of Maldives Daily, said that Luoyang’s cultural and creative products contain many elements that young people like. Some unique experience links shorten the distance between tourists and the city. Ahmed Sail Ali, chief editor of Maldivian online media Sun Online, said that he will release what he has seen, heard and felt in China in various forms such as words, pictures and videos on online media and TV programs, so that more people in the Maldives can understand the beauty of Luoyang, come to Luoyang for tourism and explore cooperation opportunities.
