On the 18th, the Luoyang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism announced that the “2025 Henan Museum Season” has released the results of three promotional activities including the “Outstanding Cases of High-Quality Development of Henan Province’s Museum Industry in 2024”. Several projects from Luoyang made the list.
The “Outstanding Cases of High-Quality Development of Museum Industry in Henan Province in 2024” promotion event was hosted by the Henan Provincial Cultural Heritage Bureau. It aimed to systematically summarize the achievements of museum reform and development in the province over recent years and better promote the high-quality development of the museum industry. After expert review, a total of 12 projects were selected. Among them, the case “Building the ‘Five Great Ancient Capital Site Museum Clusters’ to Empower the Development of Luoyang as the ‘Oriental Museum City'” submitted by the Luoyang Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage made the list.
The “2024 Annual Outstanding Exhibition in Henan Province” promotion event, hosted by the Henan Provincial Cultural Heritage Bureau, aims to encourage museums across the province to present high-quality exhibitions and meet the people’s demand for a better cultural life. A total of 12 exhibitions were selected. Among them, the “Folk Customs Still Elegantly Refined – River-Luo Folk Culture Exhibition” at the Luoyang Folklore Museum and the “Custom-Made for Guangzhou – Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Chinese Export Porcelain with Coats of Arms from the Guangzhou Museum” at the Luoyang Sui-Tang Grand Canal Culture Museum were included.
The 2025 “Read China in Museums – Promoting Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture and Cultivating Socialist Core Values” theme exhibition collection and promotion event in Henan Province was jointly organized by the Henan Provincial Cultural Heritage Bureau and the Cyberspace Administration of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. A total of 10 projects were selected. Among them, the special exhibition “The Splendor of the Wu Zhou Dynasty and the Secret of the Famen Temple – The Eternal Symphony of Wu Zetian and the Famen Temple” at the Luoyang Museum and the exhibition “Brick Paintings of History – The Essence of Carved Bricks from the Song and Jin Dynasties in Luoyang” at the Luoyang Ancient Tombs Museum were included.
