Halfway There! 2026 Luoyang Lantern Fair

With the 2026 Spring Festival approaching, the production of lanterns for the “Shendu Shangyuan Lantern Fair” at the two sub-venues is in full swing. The progress at Wangcheng Park has exceeded 70%, and that at Sui-Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden has reached over 60%.

This year’s lantern festival integrates both ancient and modern elements, presenting a dazzling array of highlights: Wangcheng Park features mechanical animal-shaped zodiac lanterns and metal wire frame lantern groups; the Sui and Tang Dynasties City Ruins Botanical Garden creates a springtime floral fantasy world, with “Silver Threaded Crown” and “Golden Threaded Crown” peony lanterns becoming popular check-in spots. A 45-meter-long “Ancient Charm and Intelligent Light” dynamic scroll lantern group will showcase cultural relics IP such as painted pottery hand-holding female figurines and stone guardians. Notably, the festival is the first to adopt silver wire light sculpture technology, making the lantern designs more exquisite and the light and shadow effects more layered.

This lantern festival combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, adhering to the essence while innovating to attract young visitors. A dazzling cultural feast is about to begin. (Reporter Xie Nana, Correspondent Liu Miao)
