On September 20th, the 7th Silk Road Dunhuang International Cultural Expo will be held in Dunhuang, Gansu. Reporters will go to the scene to report on the event’s highlights and tell the Silk Road stories.
The theme of this year’s expo is “Practicing the Global Civilization Initiative and Deepening Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning.” It includes five aspects and 18 activities, such as the opening ceremony, the Dunhuang Forum, cultural exhibitions, artistic performances, and etc. The expo will invite leaders from the central government, senior officials from relevant departments of the central and state governments, senior officials from the cultural and tourism departments of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, representatives of international organizations such as UNESCO, the World Bank, and the UN World Tourism Organization, officials from some foreign embassies and consulates, renowned Han scholars and Dunhuang experts, leaders of well-known cultural and tourism enterprises and institutions, and well-known experts and scholars in the field of culture and tourism. The total number of guests is about 800.
The Dunhuang Cultural Expo is the only national-level event with an international cultural exchange theme along the Belt and Road approved by the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council in 2015 and included in the national strategic plan for the Belt and Road. Since 2016, the expo has been successfully held for six consecutive years, injecting deeper civilizational power into promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, inheriting and promoting the Dunhuang culture, enhancing the influence of Chinese culture, and building a community of human destiny, and playing a positive role in promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people connectivity among countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.(Reporter Zhang Ruixin)
