Recently, the Funiu Mountain World Geopark in Henan Province, China, and the Leye-Fengshan World Geopark in Guangxi Province signed an agreement to officially become sister geoparks.
Funiu Mountain World Geopark is located in the heart of the Funiu Mountains in Henan Province, featuring a rich variety of geological landscapes such as granite landforms and karst caves. The Leye-Fengshan World Geopark, on the other hand, is renowned for its typical karst landforms including clusters of sinkholes and peak forests.
According to the agreement, both sides will deepen cooperation in areas such as geological heritage protection, popular science education, and tourism promotion, achieve complementary advantages and resource sharing, and jointly enhance the construction and management level of the park.
