The 5th International Ancient Capitals Forum held the “Academic Forum on Cultural Heritage Exchange and Cooperation”

On the afternoon of June 27th, the 5th International Ancient Capitals Forum held the “Academic Forum on Cultural Heritage Exchange and Cooperation”.

At the academic forum, well-known experts at home and abroad made academic exchange speeches on the “Cognition and Interpretation of Linear Heritage” and “Historical Heritage and Contemporary Interpretation”, reviewed the protection, inheritance and utilization of the Silk Road, Grand Canal cultural relics and cultural heritage, and summarized the protection and research of world cultural heritage on the Silk Road and Grand Canal in the past ten years. Achievements and successful experiences in research and other aspects, and look forward to the work ideas of the new journey in the new era in the next decade.

At the scene, many experts and scholars praised Luoyang’s responsibility in the protection of cultural relics.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the successful application of the Grand Canal and the Silk Road as World heritage sites. As the central city of the Grand Canal of the Sui and Tang Dynasties and the eastern starting point of the Silk Road, in recent years, Luoyang has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the protection of cultural heritage, earnestly implemented the deployment requirements of the State Council of the Party Central Committee, the provincial party committee and the provincial government, highlighted the priority of protection, committed to environmental improvement, and accelerated the integration of culture and tourism. In addition, we have explored the 3.0 version for the protection and utilization of large sites, which improves the self-blood production function of the heritage, realizes the sustainable development of the heritage and the city, and forms a new “Luoyang model” for the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage in the new era.
