Recently, in the greenhouse of Tuqiao Community, Mangshan Street, Laocheng District, flower farmers are live-streaming on online platforms to sell forced-blooming peonies. With the New Year’s Day approaching, the first batch of forced-blooming peonies from this community this winter have been selling well across the country.
The Tujiao Community has a long history of growing peonies, especially in pot cultivation and the production of fresh-cut peonies. The community has established a new operational system for the peony industry, which combines cooperatives, companies and farmers. This system standardizes the techniques for peony cultivation and breeding, expands sales channels, and promotes large-scale, unified and industrialized development. This has achieved “dual income growth” for both the collective and the community members, and contributed to rural revitalization.
