The 5th International Ancient Capitals Forum opened in Luoyang

 

On the morning of the June 27th, The 5th International Ancient Capitals Forum opened in Luoyang, where over 90 domestic and foreign experts and scholars gathered to discuss the protection, inheritance, and urban development of ancient capital cultural heritage.

This year’s forum is hosted by the Henan Provincial Government, with the theme of “Ancient Civilizations, New Stories.” From 27th to 28th, the forum will hold the main speech event of “Cultural Heritage Protection, Inheritance and New Life in Ancient Capitals,” the “Mayors’ Dialogue on Ancient Capital Cities in the World,” and the “Academic Forum on Cultural Heritage Exchange and Cooperation.” Domestic and foreign experts and scholars will engage in in-depth exchanges on three sub-topics of “Cultural Heritage Protection, Inheritance and New Life in Ancient Capitals, Cognition and Interpretation of Linear Heritage, and Historical Heritage and Contemporary Interpretation.”

Luoyang is one of the first historical and cultural cities announced by the State Council and a famous ancient capital. Since 2018, the International Ancient Capitals Forum has been successfully held in Luoyang for four consecutive years, and this year it has officially been upgraded to a provincial event.

The 5th International Ancient Capitals Forum will further consolidate international consensus on cultural heritage protection cooperation, leveraging Luoyang’s historical and cultural advantages as a world-famous ancient capital, strengthen the protection and utilization of cultural heritage, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between world ancient capital cities and diverse international civilizations at various levels and in various fields, promote the common improvement of the level of world cultural heritage protection, and further promote civilization exchange and mutual learning between nations.
